Many residents of this remote area, located just above the arctic circle, still keep and raise reindeer. It became abundantly clear that these late summer outings--whether by foot, ATV or boat--are about much more than berries.

Because you can't build a wall in a river, it is constructed North of the floodplain, sometimes up to two miles from the actual border. The wall is designed to be permeable, with regular gaps which allow for residents and farmworkers to access the private land and public parks that are located below. Each these photos was taken South of the border wall, but still in Texas.
